The MIPDoc International Pitch is accepting submissions

The MIPDoc International Pitch is the annual competition open to all creators and producers looking for financing partners to develop their documentary projects. The submission deadline is February 21, 2012.

During The MIPDoc International Pitch the six best projects submitted will be pitched live in front of an international panel of commissioning editors and broadcasters. The pitch will take place on the first day of the 2012 MIPDoc, being Friday 30 March.

The live pitch session will gather an audience of producers, distributors and journalists from around the world. In addition a crowd-funding platform will be offered to each of the selected project teams to promote and get funds online.

The MIPDoc International Pitch competition is meant to collect all documentary projects at an early stage of development, in relation to the following criteria:

Innovation and originality: The MIPDoc International Pitch will only select projects, i.e. non-aired programmes with originality and overall appeal in storytelling techniques, characters, look, story and themes.

International appeal: The MIPDoc International Pitch will only select projects having the potential to be developed and aired to international audiences.

To enter your project, please follow these steps:

• Step 1: Submit your project by completing the online entry form
• Step 2: In response to your submission you will receive an email with details on how to post your material though the MIPDoc FTP site
• Step 3: Once the online crowd funding platform opens, you receive instructions to start promoting your project online
• Step 4: All selected projects will be pitched live

For The MIPDoc International Pitch please have the following key dates in mind:

• 21 February 2012: Applications entry deadline
• Late January 2012: Crowd funding platform opening
• end of February 2012: Announcement of the 6 selected projects
• 30 March 2012: Live Pitching in Cannes
