Hanne Skjødt - EDN Director

Hanne Skjødt joined the EDN team in 2007 with the responsibility for the daily running of the office and the EDN finances. Since January 2011 she has been EDN Director.

Hanne is responsible for the over all running of EDN and the development of the network. She is a workshop tutor and producer and responsible for international workshops and pitching forums like Docs in Thessaloniki, Lisbon Docs, Below Zero and others.

Hanne Skjødt has studied psychology at the University of Copenhagen. In 1993 she began working with documentaries and art house feature film production and promotion. In 1995 she joined Final Cut Productions to work mainly with documentaries: financing, production, distribution and promotion. Since 2000 she has been with the Danish Film Institute as distribution and promotion consultant and head of unit, distribution and promotion of shorts and documentaries. In this position she was in charge of international promotion at film festivals as well as supporting producers' national promotion and distribution and the Danish Film Institute distribution of institute-supported shorts and documentaries on DVD to schools, educational establishments and public libraries.

Mikael Opstrup - EDN Head of Studies

Mikael Opstrup - EDN Head of Studies

A dedicated documentarist since his first S-8mm documentary in 1977.

Most of the 80’s Mikael worked with distribution and theatrical release of documentaries. Producer of international documentaries since the 90’s. Production Adviser at The Danish Film Institute 1998-2002. From 2002 - 2008 co-owner of Final Cut Productions in Copenhagen.

Board member of EDN 2005 –2008, the last year as Chairman.

Ove Rishøj Jensen - EDN Web Editor & Film Consultant

Ove has been with EDN since Winter 2003 and is in charge of the EDN web site, runs various documentary screenings, workshops, seminars and master classes, participates in the selection of projects to workshops and pitching sessions as well as handling press & communication.

Ove’s work with the EDN web site has focused on developing a platform, where a network as geographical divided as EDN’s, can have a meeting place for collaboration and information sharing. This has resulted in formats like EDN Online Master Classes, where leading documentary figures share their knowledge about filmmaking, and EDN Online Sessions, where important financiers are introduced and their financing possibilities presented. Latest format is The EDN Online Pitching Session, where documentary projects with a specific thematic focus are pitching to a selected group of financiers via an online videoconference system.

Ove has programmed and/or produced a number of events like The Greek Documentary Lab, New Platforms - New Politics, Twelve for the Future and lately also EDN’s market activities at European Film Market, Sunny Side of the Doc and MIPDOC. In addition he has collaborated with a number of documentary organisations and festivals with tailor making master classes, seminars and workshops for special events and occasions.

Ove Rishøj Jensen holds a master degree in film studies with additional studying of cultural journalism and humanistic computer informatics. Besides working for EDN Ove has briefly worked for Filmkontakt Nord. Alongside working for EDN Ove is also working for the Swedish production company Auto Images as Outreach Producer.

Cecilie Bolvinkel - Network Coordinator & EDN Financing Guide Editor

Cecilie Bolvinkel holds a Masters Degree in Film Studies from the University of Copenhagen. She has previously worked as a festival assistant for shorts & documentaries at the Danish Film Institute.
Cecilie takes care of memberships and of updating the online EDN festival and distributor databases and The EDN Guide.

Toufik Zarei - Updating & Research

Toufik Zarei holds a Bachelor Degree in French and Minority Studies from the University of Copenhagen. He has gained experience from several NGO´s in Denmark and abroad, and has always been drawn to the field of documentary films.

Toufik manages the task of researching for The EDN Financing Guide as well as updating of events and festivals on the website.

Language skills: Danish, English and French.

 

 

 

Truls Lie - DOX Editor in Chief

Truls Lie is the editor of DOX. The last 15 years he has been working as publisher and editor-in-chief of the weekly Norwegian cultural newspaper Morgenbladet (1993-2003) and the Nordic edition of the political radical monthly Le Monde diplomatique (2003-2008). He has also been working as a film critic and documentary filmmaker. His university degree in philosophy and media/economics comes from studies in Oslo, New York and San Francisco. He has especially been working with media criticism, nihilism and existentialism from French and German philosophy.

Vibeke Bryld - DOX Assistant Editor

Vibeke Bryld is a writer and filmmaker with a background in Philosophy and Arts from University of Copenhagen and a MA in Screen Documentary from Goldsmith's College, London. Over the years' she's directed a series of documentaries for Al Jazeera. Her latest documentary was nominated for the New Vision Award at CphDox. She has worked as a writer for the UK based Film and Festivals Magazine, Shooting People publications and as a programmer for the national Danish cinematheque, Cinemateket.
