DocsBarcelona 2012

- Pitching at DocsBarcelona
January 31 - February 5, 2012. Barcelona, Spain.
DocsBarcelona is combining a pitching forum, pre-pitch workshop, master classes and documentary festival into one big documentary event. Submission deadline for the pitching forum is December 1, 2011 at 1:00 pm.
The DocsBarcelona pitching forum will serve as a meeting place for documentary project funding, where producers, directors and commissioning editors come together and join forces through pitches and one-to-one meetings. At DocsBarcelona 24 selected projects will be pitched to a panel of international financiers from leading European broadcasters. The pitching forum will take place on February 2 & 3.
For the pitching the participants will have 7 minutes to present their project followed by 7 minutes of feedback from the commissioning editors around the table. After the pitching session individual meetings between pitchers and financiers will be scheduled for further discussions of the projects and potential future collaboration.
The panel will consist of 16-18 international commissioning editors from leading broadcasters. Names will be added to the DocsBarcelona web site as they become available.
Pitching Forum participation fee
1st member of a pitching team 385 €. Members of EDN/PROA pay 335 €. Additional members of a pitching team pay 270 €. Members of EDN/PROA pay 250 €. Special rates are available for pitchers coming from East European countries. See the DocsBarcelona web site for details.
The Pitching Workshop

- Workshop at DocsBarcelona
Experienced international professionals in the fields of production and documentary funding work alongside the workshop participants in analysing the strengths and weaknesses on each of the participating projects. The aim is to shape presentations into the most alluring pitches possible. Participants will also be offered information on the commissioning editors sitting on the pitching panel and the channels they represent.
The pitching workshop will be held on January 31 and February 1. The working language of the workshop will be English
All though it is not required, we highly recommend participating in the pitching workshop to help improve your project presentation for the pitching forum. And for those coming to pitch for the first time, we would say it's a must.
