15th Baltic Sea Forum for Documentaries

September 7 – 11, 2011, Riga, Latvia
Baltic Sea Forum for Documentaries is a pitching session and workshop combined with film screenings. It is aiming at documentary films produced in the Baltic and surrounding countries or productions with a subject related to the region. Deadline is June 3, 2011.
The Baltic Sea Forum consist of:
- - A three-day pitching seminar with preparatory workshop for the selected documentary pitching teams on project and trailer development, pitching training and international co-production matters
- - Two days of pitching where the documentary projects are pitched to a panel of around 14-16 international commissioning editors
- - documentary film screenings for general public and professionals
- - Professional networking and meetings during the five days in a friendly and positive environment.
Who can participate
Independent production companies from the Baltic States, Belarus, Poland, Russia, Ukraine and Georgia, as well as producers from other European countries if the film subject is related to the Baltic Region. Priority is given to the projects having some financial commitment from broadcasters or film institutions.
Producers and production companies may enter up to three projects each. There is no participation fee.
Producers may attend the Forum as observers without pitching a project.

To qualify the producer has to return the following information on each project:

* the official Baltic Forum Application Form; duly completed
-
* short description of the production company, producer and director; all on one page
-
* one page synopsis of the project
-
* if available; copies of letters of interest from broadcasters and other financiers

* one photo from the project
-
* one photo of the producer or person pitching the project
-
* if available at the point of application - a DVD trailer of the current project or previous work.
