Pitching du Réel and One-on-One Meetings
April 19-20, 2010, Nyon, Switzerland.
Visions du Réel and EDN are organizing two co-production and financing sessions. For the fifth year running Pitching du Réel will be held, a co-production meeting devoted to documentary feature-length films. In addition there will a day of One-on-One meeting sessions. Deadline for submitting proposals is February 22, 2010
Pitching du Réel - Monday, April 19, 2010
Since it was created, Pitching du Réel has aimed to be a starting-point for projects having a feature lenghth and artistic ambition. The event targets both experienced, acknowledged filmmakers and talented, young film directors.
A whole day will be devoted to the pitching of the 10 selected projects to 80 to 90 potential partners: commissioning editors, producers, distributors, sales agents, and financers. The time for each project is at least 30 minutes, which makes it possible to develop a substantial discussion on the content and filmic elements of the presented project.
Selection criteria for Pitching du Réel:
- feature-length documentary project
- subject adapted to an international co-production
- the project can be in the initial financing stage.
Participation fee for Pitching du Réel is 300 Euro.
One-on-One-Meetings - Tuesday April 20, 2010
Building on the successful launch in 2009 the One-on-One-Meetings initiative will be half a day devoted to individual meetings at which shorter-duration films will also be admitted. 10 projects will be selected.
Selection criteria for the One-on-One-Meetings:
- feature-length films and shorter films
- subject adapted to an international co-production
- financing assured up to a minimum of 20% and a maximum of 65%.
Participation fee for One-on-One-Meetings is 250 Euro.
How to Submit a Project
Submission deadline for both initiatives is February 22, 2010.
Your application must include:
- the registration form, which you can download here as either a word document or a PDF-file
- the budget and financing plan template, which you can download here
- text must be in English
- trailer/promo DVD of current project and/or a previous film.

Participating as Observer
You can participate in Pitching du Réel as an observer, meaning participating in all the sessions, but without having a project presented. All professionals who are interested are invited to take part. The price including networking lunch is CHF 100 / EUR 70.
