CROSSING BORDERS
June, 2010, China. CROSSING BORDERS is a new training and exchange programme done in collaboration between Documentary Campus, EDN and GDA – Guangzhou Documentary Association. It is an international documentary program spanning from the Asia-Pacific region to Europe and back again. Deadline for applying for CROSSING BORDERS is March 1 2010.
CROSSING BORDERS is a three-part training programme where knowledge and networks are being exchanged. The first part of the programme takes place in June 2010 with a project development workshop in China. The second part will consist of a workshop further developing the participating projects and observing the pitching session in October 2010. Finally all participants will pitch their documentary projects in December 2010. In overview the program is:
1. Workshop June, Shanghai, China
2. Workshop October, Leipzig
3. Pitch, December, China
Participation fee
There is no participation fee for the course, but the participants will pay for their airfares, whereas subsistence and accommodation will be covered. (Max 2 persons per project. If a third person want to participate all expenses will be at their own cost).
Further details on the locations, dates and detailed program will be launched as we get closer to the first part of the workshop.

Submit a proposal
CROSSING BORDERS are looking for documentary professionals, both authors, directors & producers, coming from Australia, China, Europe, Singapore and Korea who have experience in their domestic market but strive to work in the international field and make documentaries for an international audience.
The language of the workshop is English.
Deadline for applications is March 1, 2010
When applying please hand in the following documents via email:
- a 2-page presentation of the documentary project
- a budget and financing plan
- director’s CV and/or producer’s CV
- a short profile of the production company if applicable
- a trailer and/or examples of previous work (DVD or via link)
