Maggie in Wonderland - developed at Twelve for the Future

September 13 - 16 2011. Meeting point is Copenhagen, Denmark.

Twelve for the Future is a project driven co-production workshop for young Nordic documentary producers and directors. The workshop aims at developing projects for international co-production, establishing a professional network for the participants as well as connecting Nordic talents and relevant financiers. Application deadline is June 3, 2011.

Twelve for the Future is focusing on project development, networking, presentation techniques and financing opportunities. Guided by experienced tutors and working in small groups, the workshop creates an informal atmosphere of knowledge and mutual inspiration, leading to encouraging discussions and feedback.

Twelve for the Future is divided in 2 parts

The 1st part takes place 13-16 September 2011 in Denmark and focuses on the development of the participants’ projects.

The 2nd part takes place late January 2012 in Helsinki, Finland in conjunction with the DocPoint Festival. Here the participants have individual meetings with financers from Nordic TV channels and Film Institutes.

In the period between the two sessions, the participants can be in contact with the tutors and EDN for further guidance on their project development.

About Twelve for the Future

Twelve for the Future has for many newcomers in the field of documentary filmmaking proved to establish a useful network among colleagues and financiers.

Among earlier Twelve for the Future projects have been:

  •  - Living Room of the Nation by Jukka Kärkkäinen. Produced by Sami Jahnukainen for Mouka Filmi, Finland
  •  - Football is God by Ole Bendtzen. Produced by Signe Byrge Sørensen & Anne Köhncke for Final Cut For Real, Denmark
  •  - Maggie in Wonderland by Mark Hammarberg,  Ester Martin Bergsmark & Beatrice "Maggie" Andersson. Produced by Anna Byvald for Silverosa Film, Sweden.

Twelve for the Future is organized by European Documentary Network, EDN. The aim of the workshop is to create a network of young filmmakers across the borders of the Nordic countries and to help them develop their ideas to a stage, where they can qualify for Nordic financial support and co-production. This is the 11th edition of Twelve for the Future.
